The Puffling Emerges.

It's not often you are lucky enough to witness a Puffling briefly emerging from a burrow. It was lovely to see it spreading its wings, perhaps for the first time. Here it is seen with one of the adults, who is looking rather lovingly at its young. Skomer Island, Wales.

Gannet Love.

It's a wonderful experience to witness a Gannet pair raising their beaks up to each other, often touching, reaffirming their bond. I've seen it many times when they are reunited on the cliffs after one has been out to sea in search of fish to eat. Bemptom Cliffs, Yorkshire.

Herring Gull high key over exposed

High Key Herring Gull.

I experimented with this photo by intentionally over exposing it in the camera settings to make it extra white and give it a little more impact.
